Nicholas founded Nicholas Actuarial Solutions in 2015. He is an actuary with exceptional business acumen and a global perspective. His clients and his organization benefit from his strong grasp of strategic, operational and risk management aspects of the business.
Nicholas has over 15 years experience in actuarial work including life insurance, family takaful, general insurance, general takaful, employee benefits, pension, medical insurance, reinsurance and insurtech startups. Nicholas held appointed actuary and signing actuary roles in Malaysia, Cambodia and Papua New Guinea.
Nicholas has developed various technology and software application including IBNR Robot, ReACC, PAA Robot. Outside of traditional actuarial work, Nicholas has significant experience in captive insurance, offshore insurance, artificial intelligence and data analytics.
Nicholas is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (UK) and a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (US). He is a past Council Member of the Society of Actuaries’ Entrepreneurial & Innovation Section. He is also a past Chairperson of the Professional Development Committee and Events Committee of the Actuarial Society of Malaysia. Nicholas graduated from Bayes Business School formally known as Cass Business School with First Class Honours in BSc Actuarial Science.
Shu Yi joined Nicholas Actuarial Solutions in 2017, she has more than 5 years of professional actuarial experience in the life insurance and general insurance. She now leads the Employee Benefits practice.
Shu Yi is playing a key role in developing business and managing clients in Bangladesh, Cambodia, Dubai, Indonesia, Kuwait, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore and etc.
With Shu Yi’s current role in Employee Benefits, she has supported her clients of various background from non-governmental organizations to multinational and local companies and insurers. Shu Yi is familiar with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for Employee Benefits ie. IAS 19, MFRS 119, MPERS 28, MPSAS 25, SFRS (I) 1-19, SFRS for SE 28.
Shu Yi is actively involved in employee benefits design & planning and Employee Stock Option Scheme (ESOS).
She started her actuarial career in Tokio Marine Life Insurance Malaysia, responsible for the pricing of Employee Benefits. Shu Yi is eager to expand the firm’s offering to emerging countries.
Shu Yi was the Secretary of Actuarial Society of Malaysia (ASM) for years 2020 - 2021. She graduated from Sunway University in Malaysia holding a BSc in Actuarial Studies.

Wei Wei is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) who graduated from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2002. She has experience working across many countries such as Malaysia, Thailand, Australia, India, Singapore, Taiwan and South Korea. Over Wei Wei’s 19 years in the insurance industry, she has experience in across life insurance, family takaful, general insurance and group insurance business.
Wei Wei has extensive experience in actuarial works including business projection, planning & forecasting, value reporting including Traditional EV, MCEV, VNB and MCVNB, Solvency II, US GAAP reporting, PGAAP reporting, actuarial pricing, actuarial process review, reinsurance management and Prophet modelling & enhancements.
Wei Wei an expert Prophet user with experience in managing and setting controls and checks in the Prophet System. She is also proficient in excel and VBA.
Raymond is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and has over 25 years of actuarial, financial and risk management experience in the insurance industry, previously held Appointed Actuary, Chief Actuary and Chief Risk Officer roles.
Raymond has significant expertise in developing risk and capital management framework, developing growth strategies, performing risk analysis, developing compensation models and performing client value analysis. Raymond is a pioneer of new product ideas and systems and is recognised as a leading innovator in the market. He has coached and mentored many younger and successful actuaries.
Raymond is a Certified Financial Planner and a Certified NLP Practitioner for Appraisal and Performance Management. Raymond also has specialized knowledge in Internet Marketing, Social Media Marketing and Blockchain Technology.

Sophia has more than 20 years of experience in pricing, valuation, reinsurance, Asset Liability Management (ALM), capital management and risk management, for life insurance, general insurance and Takaful.
Her previous roles span from Independent Non-Executive Director, Appointed Actuary, CFO, strategy planning, performance management, risk management, product marketing and pricing to consultancy and lecturer. The companies she served are Zurich Insurance, MetLife, AIA, Generali, Great Eastern, Tune Insurance Malaysia, IKBZ Insurance, Forte Insurance, Etiqa, Hannover Re, Echo Re and several captives. She had done works for Malaysia, Myanmar, Indonesia, Cambodia, Bahrain and Singapore.
Sophia is a Fellow of Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (UK), a Fellow of Actuarial Society Malaysia, Fellow of Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and Chartered Global Management Accountants. She held a Bachelor of Economics degree from Macquarie University.

Sophia was the President for Actuarial Society Malaysia for 2019-2021. She is now an independent director for insurer.
Wan is an Islamic and conventional finance professional with 30 years extensive experience in the banking, insurance and takaful sector, having held various leadership and executive management roles in Malaysia and Hong Kong. He has also served as an independent director with a general insurance company and an Islamic cooperative Bank in Malaysia.
Wan was instrumental in the setting up and management of two takaful companies in Malaysia. He has also provided sharia consultancy work in Indonesia.
Wan currently is the Managing Partner of Sprint Milestone Sdn Bhd, an advisory company primarily focus on automation, data analytics, and artificial intelligence.
Wan holds a baccalaureate degree in finance and business economics and MBA (Finance and MIS), USA.

Jone Keat joined Nicholas Actuarial Solutions in 2020 as a developer. He actively participated in technology works to develop high quality and user-friendly actuarial software.
Jone Keat has over 2 years of experience in streamlining business workflow in the insurance and finance industry in Malaysia. By using his data analytics and programming skills, he always strive to propose new strategies and act to develop automation tools.
Jone Keat is proficient in Excel, R, Shiny and VBA, and using these skills, he developed various actuarial software including PAA robot and ReACC. He also proposed and consistently improved the development workflows and practices using version control system to assure the efficiency and reproducibility of our technology works.
Jone Keat graduated from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman with First Class Honours in BSc Actuarial Science. He is currently studying towards attaining Fellowship of the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS).
Yue Shen has over 3 years experience in general, life and captive insurance valuation work. He also has experience in business projection, pricing and IFRS 17 work.
Yue Shen has experience in doing valuation work for insurance company in Brunei, Singapore and Cambodia. This valuation work includes automating the valuation process and implementation of new guidelines for an insurance company.
Yue Shen is a member of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries. He is currently studying to be a Fellow.
Yue Shen has worked with different client with different needs and expectations. All these different experience has made him a fast learner, and also flexible to adapt to the current situation.

Debbie Ooi (Min Jyeh)
Debbie joined Nicholas Actuarial Solutions in 2018. She has 3 years experience in the actuarial industry. Debbie has extensive experience in wide range of actuarial work including actuarial valuation, product pricing, financial projection, business feasibility studies, risk management reporting and underwriting policy development. Debbie has experience across life insurance, general insurance life reinsurance, general reinsurance, family takaful and general takaful verticals. Her work spans across Malaysia, Australia, Cambodia, Myanmar, Singapore, and Bahrain.
Debbie is proficient in R, Python, VBA, and SAS programming languages and Excel. She has led several actuarial software development projects, including PET Robot, LRC Robot, LIC Robot, ReACC and Hinsurtech.
Debbie has extensive communication skills due to her prior exposure to journalism and leadership experiences. She has been actively delivering educational talks to university students on topics relating to the actuarial industry. Debbie has co-written a research paper for the Society of Actuaries (SOA) on the topic of artificial intelligence and its application in actuarial work.
Debbie graduated from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom with a BSc (Hons) in Actuarial Mathematics. She is currently studying towards attaining Fellowship of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA).
Desmond joined Nicholas Actuarial Solutions as an Actuarial Analyst in 2022. He is looking forward to gain more exposure towards various actuarial field.
Desmond possess claim analytics knowledge/ experience in medical insurance industry. He is passionate about data analytic and eager to explore deeper into the actuarial field. His willingness to learn can broaden his horizon and help contribute to the company.
Desmond graduated from Heriot-Watt University Malaysia with a BSc (Hons) in Actuarial Science. He is currently studying toward attaining Associate and Fellowship of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFOA).
Nadia came from Indonesia and joined Nicholas Actuarial Solutions. Nadia has over 2 years experience in product development, product pricing and financial projections in life insurance, family takaful (Syariah life insurance), medical insurance, life reinsurance, health reinsurance, group employee benefits as well as for insurtech startups.
Nadia has led pricing projects in Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia and Myanmar, for multinational and local insurers. She is familiar with local regulatory requirements and internal requirements of large multinational insurers.
Nadia is also proficient in Robotic Process Automation. She has developed an automated life insurance valuation routine using Automation Anywhere.
Nadia graduated from UCSI University in Malaysia with First Class Honours in BSc Actuarial Science. She is currently studying towards attaining Fellowship of the Society of Actuaries (SOA). She is a fast learner and is always keen to learn new things. Her organization experiences have developed her strong communication, time management and problem-solving skills.

Jessie started her career as an Actuarial Analyst in Nicholas Actuarial Solutions since 2019. Jessie has 2 years experience in actuarial valuation for multiple institutions involving in general insurance and reinsurance. Jessie led various actuarial valuation projects in Malaysia, Cambodia and Papua New Guinea. Jessie is involved in reviewing and building an inhouse IFRS 17 PAA Specialist Software (PAA Robot).
Jessie was previously seconded to a large accounting firm for MFRS 17 implementation. In which, Jessie had build, operate and manage various data source for MFRS 17 cashflow model using Data3Sixty and Microsoft Excel.
Along the career path, Jessie had involved in Quantitative Impact Study II project for a reinsurance company in Labuan, and financial projections for a funeral services institute in Mauritius.
Jessie graduated with First Class Honours in BSc (Hons) in Actuarial Science from Heriot-Watt University, Malaysia. Jessie is currently studying towards attaining Fellowship of the Institution and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA). Jessie is keen on exploring and applying her actuarial knowledge in both traditional and non-traditional actuarial work.
Jacy joined Nicholas Actuarial Solutions as an Actuarial Analyst in 2021. She is highly motivated and keen to explore new ventures in the actuarial field.
Jacy has experience in valuation and IFRS 17 in life insurance field. She has been working on life reserving valuation for company in Cambodia. Apart from that, Jacy has been involved in IFRS 17 implementation projects for several insurance companies. In which, Jacy has operated and tested the IFRS 17 transition tool using Prophet and DCS. These extensive experiences did help her to equip with strong communication, problem solving and analytical skills.
Jacy graduated from Sunway University with first-class honors in BSc (Hons) Actuarial Studies. She is currently studying towards attaining the Fellowship of Institute and Faculties of Actuaries (IFoA).
Jacy Chin Jia Xin
Billy is an Associate Actuary at Nicholas Actuarial Solutions. He has already had over 4 years experiences working internationally in Indonesia and Malaysia.
Billy has had experience implementing IFRS 17 in a general insurance company in Malaysia and creating a PAA eligibility testing model for general insurance company to use. Billy has also had experience in general insurance actuarial valuation, product pricing of medical insurance products, experience analysis, annual budgeting preparation for general insurance, and data extraction mainly using SQL on day-to-day basis. During business-as-usual works, Billy will always try to simplify and enhance the effectiveness of the work to shorten the time process needed to finish the work while maintaining accuracy. He has been able to cut down process time by at least 50% in several of his projects.
Billy has also had experiences with other data analytics software, such as Microsoft Excel, VBA, Matlab, D3S, and R.
Prior to becoming an Associate Actuary, Billy has had experiences in non-traditional actuarial areas, such as teaching, engineering, and public relation, which helped him to be versatile and adaptable, as well as a fast learner and able to work under pressure.
Billy graduated with MSc qualification in Actuarial Management from UCSI University, Malaysia. He is currently studying towards attaining Fellowship of the Society of Actuaries (FSA).
Ng Eng Kheng
Eng Kheng has experience in various actuarial work such as life insurance, reinsurance, employee benefits, pension and insurtech startups.
Eng Kheng has experience in Prophet and DCS modelling. He has supported in Prophet modelling and DCS coding for new product. Besides, he has helped to set up experience study for mortality in DCS for an Indonesian life company and set up runs for stress test for FCR reporting for a takaful operator. He is also invloved in conducting Prophet training to client.
Eng Kheng has experience in IFRS 17 implementation. He has supported in setting up runs to perform VFA eligibility test and profitability assessment for each policy, and to update the BAU MPF with IFRS 17 variables.
Eng Kheng has performed valuation for various long term employee benefits in Malaysia, Cambodia, Singapore and Bangladesh such as retirement benefit and post-retirement medical benefit.
Apart from that, Eng Kheng has experience in performing feasibility studies and financial projections for life companies in Seychelles and Mauritius. He has also supported in product pricing and profit testing for insuretech startups in Malaysia.
Eng Kheng is proficient in Excel, VBA and R. He has significant experience in building and testing application software using R Shiny. He is involved significantly in the coding and testing of reinsurance software, ReACC which is used by clients regularly to generate reinsurance results.
Eng Kheng graduated from the University of Manchester with First Class Honours in BSc Actuarial Science and Mathematics. He is currently studying towards qualifying as a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA).
Yan Chin started her career as an actuarial analyst in Nicholas Actuarial Solutions in 2022 after completing her degree in Malaysia. Her degree and internship experience involving sample reserve matching has equipped her with practical actuarial skillset.
Yan Chin is persistent when solving problems as mathematics is her passion. She is keen to utilize her knowledge and experience to contribute while gaining exposure towards various actuarial works.
Yan Chin graduated from Sunway University with BSc (Hons) in Actuarial Studies and is currently studying towards attaining the Fellowship of the Institute and Faculties of Actuaries (IFOA).
Lee Yan Chin
Min-Qi began as an intern in Nicholas Actuarial Solutions. She further joined the company as an Actuarial Analyst in 2021 after obtaining her bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science.
She is keen on calculations and analytics. She is passionate about transversing more actuarial knowledge and gaining experiences as well as expanding such skills to contribute to the business.
Min-Qi graduated from Sunway University with a First-Class Honours in BSc (Hons) in Actuarial Studies while currently studying towards attaining the Fellowship of the Institute and Faculties of Actuaries (IFoA).
Wong joined Nicholas Actuarial Solutions as an Advisor for Captive Insurance in 2020. He brings significant expertise, experience and dynamism to the team. He is well known as a leader in the captive insurance industry. Wong has helped to firm and manage many captives in Asian achieving superior risk management and cost savings for the parent companies.
Wong has over 30 years of experience in the general insurance industry. In his past capacity as a CEO and Managing Director of insurance companies, Wong has led major transformation initiatives and turnaround programs in the companies he helmed. He also took an active role in the Malaysian general insurance industry by serving the General Insurance Association of Malaysia (PIAM) in 2009 as a Deputy Chairman and was elected as Chairman in 2012.
Wong is also a Principal Director in Labuan Insurance Management Services Limited and a Chartered Insurance Practitioner. He is also admitted to the Malaysian Bar as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya.

Vincent joined Nicholas Actuarial Solutions in 2022. During his study, he had experience doing internships in Indonesia in actuarial valuation and regional reporting, and in Malaysia as a data analyst. He has been active in organizations since high school and was the 2020-21 vice president of the Indonesian Student Association in UCSI University. This has led him to have great leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Vincent is proficient in R, VBA, and Excel. He has previously done research in forecasting the impact of COVID-19 to technology stock prices using machine learning models in R. He is very keen in using actuarial mathematics and statistics in providing solutions to real-world problems. He believes that actuaries can help shape the world through their work.
Vincent graduated from UCSI University with First Class Honors in B.Sc. (Hons.) Actuarial Science and Finance. He is currently pursuing a Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries (SOA).
Kun Khim has over 10 years experience in actuarial work covering conventional life insurance and family takaful in the areas of the actuarial valuation, actuarial modelling, actuarial pricing and risk management.
In his previous role, he was the assistant lead for the IFRS 17 implementation project for a large multinational insurance company. He was involved in leading the work from establishing going-in positions for both conventional life insurance and family takaful businesses, coordinating the position with regional and corporate office as well as leading the relevant technical discussions and assessments with the project team. He also led the actuarial modelling function, covering the consolidation of new product model, ad-hoc enhancements and independent model review with regional review team.
Kun Khim has worked on various evaluation of company initiatives in assessing the viability of potential new strategic partnerships. He also had experience in shareholders reporting, encompassing value of new business, strategic planning and business planning.
Kun Khim is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (UK) He graduated from the Australian National University in BSc Actuarial Studies.

Lye Yin joined Nicholas Actuarial Solutions, working with the Financial Reporting Practice for a year. Prior to this, Lye Yin had 3 years of experience working in two audit firms, Nexia SSY and UHY.
Lye Yin had previously been involved in the design of Chart of Accounts (COA), accounting journals and skeleton of financial statement with accounting disclosures for general insurance companies. Lye Yin is proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Lye Yin is seconded to a general insurance company in Malaysia for MFRS 17 Implementation. In which, Lye Yin is involving in BNM report submission, UAT and preparation of budget.
Lye Yin is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and ASEAN Chartered Professional Accountant (ASEAN CPA). She graduated from the Oxford Brookes University with a BSc in Applied Accounting and ACCA from Sunway College.
Ming Wei is an Associate Actuary at Nicholas Actuarial Solutions. Ming Wei has close to 3 years of experience in valuation in reinsurance, general insurance and life insurance fields. She has led valuation projects for Malaysia and Singapore companies hence she is familiar with the local regulatory requirements.
Ming Wei is involved in IFRS 17 implementation projects for several insurance companies. She worked on data and impact assessment, transition calculation and analysis, and provided training to the clients. Apart from that, Ming Wei also gained extensive experience in building and testing IFRS 17 measurement software applications using programming tools. She is proficient in Excel, VBA, R, Prophet and DCS.
Ming Wei graduated from Heriot-Watt University Malaysia with a BSc (Hons) in Actuarial Science. She is currently studying towards attaining Fellowship of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA). Ming Wei is deeply passionate about mathematics and problem-solving. She is a self-motivated achiever and is always keen to learn and explore the broad diversity of actuarial work.
Outside of traditional actuarial work, Ming Wei also played a role in funding activities and investor relations of the company.
Kok Ming Wei
Eyang joined Nicholas Actuarial Solutions as Actuarial Analyst in 2021. He is keen to explore the application of traditional and non-traditional actuarial methods to obtain and provide valuable insights.
Eyang is passionate about problem solving and is eager to expand his knowledge in actuarial and non-actuarial fields and also exploring the integration of technology into actuarial practices.
Eyang graduated from Heriot-Watt University Malaysia with a BSc (Hons) in Actuarial Science and is currently working on obtaining Fellowship of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA).
Ryan started his career as a Business Development Analyst in Nicholas Actuarial Solutions in 2021, mainly assisting the firm in financial reports, meeting client’s objectives and analyzing market trends & opportunities to further develop the business. He interned in BDO Accounting Malaysia as a Market Analyst before joining n-actuarial.
Ryan is a team player and has strong communication and interpersonal skills which is key in maintaining relationship with customers & external parties. Ryan is also a fast learner which allows him to be agile and adapt to different request & expectations of the clients.
Ryan graduated from Taylors Lakeside University with a bachelor’s in International Business and Marketing. He strives to further his studies to further sharpen his skillsets.

Celine joined Nicholas Actuarial Solutions as Actuarial Analyst in March 2022, looking forward to gaining more exposure in the actuarial field, such as valuations & modelling and pricing. In her previous role as Product Development & Pricing Support Executive in Sun Life Malaysia Assurance Berhad, she mainly assisted in supporting the development & delivery of product roll-out, pricing ad-hoc tasks and managed operations support production requests.
She is a determined person in problem-solving and passionate about exploring IT programming and analytics, hoping to extend what she has learnt and apply it in the actuarial field.
Celine graduated from Asia Pacific University with a First-Class Honours in BSc (Hons) in Actuarial Studies and currently studying towards in attaining the Fellowship of Society of Actuaries (SOA).
Celine Chew Kah Yan
Nicholas Cheong began as an intern in Nicholas Actuarial Solutions and he joined the firm in 2022 as an Actuarial Analyst. He had previously interned in KPMG’s Financial Risk Management (FRM) department. His past experience equipped him with practical actuarial and risk management knowledge.
Nicholas has experience in long-term employee benefit and general insurance valuation, having participated in various valuation projects. He has also aided in the development of R Shiny applications and R packages that automate actuarial work.
Nicholas has a natural affinity for mathematics and finance. He is a team player and a fast learner with strong communication skills. He is keen to explore the actuarial and finance industry, and to further expand his knowledge and actuarial skills. Nicholas is passionate in using mathematics and actuarial analyses to develop practical solutions.
He graduated from Sunway University with a First-Class Honours in BSc (Hons) Actuarial Studies and he is currently studying towards qualifying as a Fellow in the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA).
Raymond joined Nicholas Actuarial Solutions in 2022. Prior to this, he was an intern in Nicholas Actuarial Solutions in 2018 before moving to Vietnam in 2019. Raymond has had
over 3 years of experience in a consulting firm and an insurtech start-up in Vietnam.
As an actuarial analyst in his previous role, he had experience in insurance product pricing for both non-life and life insurance products, helped in reserve calculation, sensitivity analysis and profit testing. He was also involved in several employee benefits valuation projects. Raymond
also led the data team and was given responsibilities to handle the big data, modelling and some machine learning projects. Simultaneously, Raymond also worked as an investment and business analyst in an insurtech start-up, he was involved in dealing with project managements and proposals, as well as communicating with clients, partners and investors.
Raymond is proficient in Excel, VBA, R and has basic skills in Python. He graduated from UCSI University Malaysia with First Class Honours in Bsc Actuarial Science. He is currently studying towards attaining Fellowship of the Society of Actuaries (SoA).
Selwin started her career as an Actuarial Analyst in Nicholas Actuarial Solutions. During her study, Selwin has had internship experience in Indonesia and Malaysia. She had extensive organization experience, which shaped her outstanding communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
Selwin is proficient in R, VBA and Excel. She has led a research on machine learning and utilized it to forecast stock prices. She has a learner mindset and she is enthusiastic about expanding her actuarial knowledge and applying that knowledge to contribute to the company.
Selwin graduated from UCSI University Malaysia with First Class Honours in BSc (Hons) Actuarial Science. She is currently studying towards attaining Fellowship of the Society of Actuaries (SoA).
Yi-Bei kickstarted her career as an actuarial analyst at Nicholas Actuarial Solutions in 2022. During her study, she has 2 internship experiences related to actuarial pricing, actuarial valuation, and actuarial modelling in life insurance which affirmed her interest towards actuarial industry.
Yi-Bei is proficient in excel VBA, python, and R. She is passionate to broaden her knowledge on actuarial to contribute to the industry.

Pei Sim joined Nicholas Actuarial Solutions in 2022. She graduated from Sunway University with BSc (Hons) in Actuarial Studies. She was a pricing intern in life insurance company.
She hopes to learn more in the actuarial industry and is eager to apply the knowledge she learnt from degree and internship. She has experiences in using R programming and excel VBA.
Apart from hoping to gain more exposure in the industry and contribute to quality actuarial work, she is also studying towards attaining the Fellowship of Institute and Faculties of Actuaries (IFoA).
Ng Pei Sim
Kin Joe kick-started his Actuarial journey in Nicholas Actuarial Solutions in 2022. He graduated from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman with a degree in B.Sc (Hons) Actuarial Science.
He is proficient in Excel and SQL. He is a quick learner and is eager to acquire different skillsets to better contribute to the company.
He is also keen on gaining exposure to the different fields of actuarial like pricing, modelling and valuation works. He is studying towards attaining Fellowship of the Society of Actuaries (SOA).
Looi Kin Joe
Shao Weng joined Nicholas Actuarial Solutions in December 2022 as an Actuarial Analyst. He had previously interned in Product Development department in a life insurance company. His past experience equipped him with practical actuarial knowledge.
Shao Weng is proficient in Excel VBA, Python and R Programming. He is a good team player with strong interpersonal skills. He is keen to learn how to apply his actuarial knowledge in the real world.
Shao Weng graduated from Sunway University in BSc (Hons) Actuarial Studies, and he is currently studying towards qualifying as a Fellow in the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA).
Ng Shao Weng
Sithira joined Nicholas Actuarial Solutions in 2023 and is based in the Singapore office. Sithira has over 10 years experience in product development and pricing for life and health insurance and reinsurance.
Sithira has led pricing projects in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, China, Hong Kong and Europe for multinational and local insurers.
Sithira graduated from London School of Economics with a BSc (Hons) in Actuarial Science. She is currently studying towards attaining Fellowship of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA). She is adaptable and is always keen to find more efficient ways to solve problems. Her organization experiences have developed her strong communication, people management and problem-solving skills.
Sithira is proficient in Excel, VBA as well as R. Outside of product pricing, Sithira is also part of the Social and Health committee of the Singapore Actuarial Society. She is also a member of the Mental Health working party for the IFoA.
Mehviness joined Nicholas Actuarial Solutions as an Actuarial Analyst in 2023. He graduated from University of Malaya (UM) with a Bsc (Hons) in Actuarial Science. Prior to this, he has experience in Actuarial Pricing for life insurance products.
Mehviness is proficient in MS Excel including VBA, R and Python. He has also learned and got himself acquainted with Prophet and SQL. With a strong data-driven mentality and deep knowledge of actuarial concepts, he also has robust technical skills, knowledge and experience working in professional actuarial settings.
He aspires to be a leader in the actuarial field and aims to help contribute to society in the various ways that actuaries can. Mehviness is studying towards attaining Fellowship of the Society of Actuaries (SOA).
Deven is a graduate from UCSI University with First Class Honours in BSc. (Hons) Actuarial Science and Finance. He started his career as an actuarial analyst at Nicholas Actuarial Solutions in 2023. During his university time, he is actively involved in student development initiative (specialized in mentorship program) which led him to have some essential skills such as, communication, problem-solving, and leadership.
Deven is equipped with the ability to operate various software such as Microsoft office, R, and Tableau. His experiences during internship for the 9 months as an actuarial intern in general insurance company and data analyst intern in life insurance company in Malaysia has helped him to prepare as an actuary in the future.
Deven is currently studying towards attaining Fellowship of the Society of Actuaries (SoA).
Jasmine joined Nicholas Actuarial Solutions in 2023. She has over 1 year experience in actuarial valuation and data analytics prior to joining the company.
Jasmine is a fast learner and is always keen to learn and expand her actuarial knowledge to provide solutions to real-world problems. Jasmine is proficient in Excel, VBA, R and SQL. She also has experience in using Prophet, DCS and Access.
Jasmine graduated from Sunway University with BSc (Hons) in Actuarial Studies and is currently studying towards qualifying as a Fellow in the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA).
Min Li joined Nicholas Actuarial Solutions in 2023 and has close to 2 years of experience in Malaysia focusing on Prophet and DCS modelling. In addition to that, she has valuation experience in Takaful statistical reporting.
Min Li is proficient in Excel, Prophet, DCS and FoxPro. She has various modelling experience which includes model enhancements and new product coding in the Family Takaful industry. She has also been involved in performing data enhancements to improve reporting accuracy. Apart from that, Min Li has supported table and model updates, data checking and negative testing for IFRS17 reporting.
Min Li also developed and enhanced programming for statistical reporting and provided support in handling statistical reporting-related queries.
