IFRS 17 Training Programme
Our training programme includes hands-on practice and real-life examples. We have the expertise to train finance personnel on IFRS 17 accounting posting. The objective is to provide participants to be able to apply IFRS 17 principles for the recognition, measurement, presentation, and disclosure of insurance contracts issued, reinsurance contracts held and investment contracts.
George Kau ACMA CGMA FSA FASM
George is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and has over 16 years of experience in the insurance and takaful industry in Malaysia and in Taiwan. He previously held appointed actuary and senior management roles in several takaful companies in Malaysia.
George has significant experience in actuarial and management work including the development of annual operating plan according to strategic initiatives, actuarial management of participating fund, review of actuarial valuation processes, methodologies and assumptions, merger and acquisitions, and feasibility studies on exclusivity arrangements and outsourcing strategies for banks and insurers before M&A. He had performed reviews of the insurance and takaful operations with focused areas on investment, profitability, capital optimisation, reinsurance structure and smart underwriting processes.
George graduated with a BSc in Actuarial Science from the National University of Malaysia. He is currently a volunteer of the Society of Actuaries, having worked on various emerging actuarial topics with local industry and professional associations to promote knowledge sharing and industry discussion. He is passionate about the development of a network in the Greater Asia community includes Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand.
